The Scent
In the glory days of salty sea dogs, sailors used rum tinctures of West Indie Bay and spices as disinfectants, fragrances, deodorants, and aftershaves. Over time, many famous fragrances and shaving houses adopted the custom and offered their versions of the classic scent, which proved extremely popular with barbers.
Barrister and Mann® is proud to offer its version of a classic Bay Rum. Dispensing with the modern custom of using large amounts of clove, it blends real black strap rum with West Indie Bay, sweet orange, cinnamon, and benzoin (a vanilla-like resin) instead. The Bay Rum is a warm, masculine classic, a piece of history, and a favorite for winter, but it is well-suited for any time of year.
The Soap
Sometimes, there's nothing so comforting as good old-fashioned bar soap. Tyler Durden called it "the yardstick of civilization," it has long been in the running for the most important medical development of all time. We would not have made it nearly as far as a species were it not for the invention of soap in Sumeria thousands of years ago.
While Barrister and Mann believe in simplicity, many people do not care for soap made from animal fats. Thus, they're thrilled to debut their brand new vegetable bar soap, made with responsibly sourced, certified-origin palm oil, pomace olive oil, avocado oil, moisturizing cupuaçu butter, and goat milk powder. This nourishing, moisturizing soap is ideal for any time of year, but especially for the cooler, drier months.
