Merkur 37C Heavy Duty Slant Chrome Safety Razor
The Merkur 37C Heavy-Duty Razor Slant Bar Double Edge Razor also known among fans under the abbreviation "The HD Slant", short for Heavy Duty Slant is created especially for strong stubble and coarse heavy beards. This razor's slanted design features a curved "slant bar" head contour like a guillotine which exposes more of the blade similar to a straight razor. The blade is slightly angled and slices rather than cuts off coarse facial hair for a closer shave. The working principle is similar to the guillotine. Aside from its aggressiveness and shape, the razor is also refined: few other razors can compete with the smooth, comfortable shave this classic delivers!
The 37C's handle has an overall length of 3" designed to be ergonomic. Made with a thicker non-slip grip handle for superior handling, providing accuracy and shave ability. It is not recommended for beginners. If you are still learning the art of wet shaving you should consider using a more mild razor such as the Merkur 34c.
MATERIAL
The head of the Merkur 37C heavy duty is manufactured using the zinc die-casting process and is lightly twisted giving the blade a slanted angle thus providing an aggressive and efficient shave around contoured shapes. In order to ensure a comfortable weight distribution, brass is utilized for the handle body. The chrome finishes complete the overall look of distinction and protects the razor from corrosion and underlines the high-quality design.

The Merkur shaves smooth as silk. I found it comfortably mild and efficient.
Merkur must be German for moderate. No crack on quality though, this is a well made item. My beard is pretty tough. I had to find a more aggressive razor and I was hoping this would be the one. I tried adjusting the angle and different blades and I never quite achieved a close shave, on my face. I did develop a bumpy chin from so many passes. I thought I would have to relegate this well made device to an adornment. I realized I had not tried it on my head. I never use the same razor for both. I loaded it with a Bolzano blade and had a really good head shave. This is the one but not for my face. I do believe this would be an excellent razor for someone with light to moderate beard coarseness. Grown man shave had this at the best price I had seen for this razor.
