Dovo, a family-owned business, was founded in Solingen in the beginning of the 20th century and has been producing straight razors since a time when no one even knew what the word "disposable" meant.

Technology may have chugged along since then at a mind-boggling pace. This straight razor, though, hot-forged in Solingen and bearing the German government's seal to prove that even the materials used in its making were sourced locally, is timeless.

The handle is crafted from ebony heartwood and is inlaid with an engraving plate in case you feel like personalizing it. The blade is 24K gold-etched with Saturn, the moon, and several stars. There's definitely something otherworldly about just how gorgeous this straight razor is.

Round point suitable for both newcomers to wet shaving and experienced shavers.

Very Good

I am new to straight razor shaving. The barber I went to used a barberette. I purchased a naked armor and then the Dovo barbarossa. The Dovo in my opinion is much easier to use probably due to it's smaller size and grind. Definitely recommend if you're just doing detailing after a haircut.

Dovo travel manicure set

The set is really perfect for traveling. When traveling, I don’t need an entire manicure set, and I already have several pairs of spare clippers. But a file and scissors are necessities. This set is small but the file is very effective and efficient and the scissors work well. The first set I received had some rust spots. GMS kindly replaced the item with a new set which was perfect.

Great razor out of the box

I bought a Thiers Issard and was very disappointed in the blade. Even after sharpening and honing to 12000 it did not cut great, I ordered this razor and man, what a difference! This passed the hair test form the factory (before stropping) and was a pleasure. U did a quick hone at 12000 and it is like butter with a hot knife now through the hair test. THids was far less than the other one a far greater quality out of the box.
