Boker Edelweiss Synthetic Ivory Straight Razor 5/8" Carbon Steel

Really well-made straight razor from Germany. It holds a keen, comfortable edge to shave with. I strop it every day on my leather strop and get a smooth, irritation free comfortable shave. The razor arrived in time.

This Beauty is a beast and will mow down 3 day growth like a hot knife through butter..Better be aware of the toe area as she will bite you if nonchalantly mind wonder during the shave.

The Boker 14er is a beautiful Razor. It came shave ready and shaved well. Grown manshave.com and Dave are a pleasure to deal with.

The quality and the attention to detail is top notch. It came in a lighter color than what is depicted but that is fine. It is a beautiful razor and it shaves well. Grownman Shave ships fast and is a pleasure to deal with.

What makes this blade excellent is the lack of shoulder, without shoulder its a breeze to sharpen in your favorite stone because the shoulder doesn't get on the way and the whole length of the blade just slip off on the stone without the resistance that you feel with a shouldered blade, I have 4 sharpening stones, Belgian Couticoule, Arkansas translucent, Naniwa 12000 grit anda Norton 4000 and 8000 combination grit, tried on all of them and finished with the 12000 Naniwa all of them worked perfectly, again the lack of shoulder made the difference, and the same thing apply to the stropping process, the results what can I say?......when you are shaving feels like the blade is slipping on a glass surface covered with shaving foam. Planning on getting another one of that type on a 7/8, maybe longer.

The box is great except my 6/8" Thiers Issard Spartacus does not fit - the box lid does not close. But all other razors I currently have fit in perfectly. All and all, great stuff, highly recommend it!

The factory sharpening could have been better. I had to put it on the hone much sooner than expected.

Productions like a museum quality piece. Didn't even want to shave with it because I was concerned I would mess up how spectacular this blade looks. For just lining up my beard lines this 5/8" handles most excellent. Shaving with this razor is like a hot knife cutting through butter. Couldn't be more pleased. For anything other than lining up my facial hair I use a 6/8" blade or a 7/8" just because they seem to handle more facial hair in less time. I am sure it is all technique but each man will develop a certain preference or technique that works for them.
