Versatile stands out when describing this product. Not only a wonderful pre-shave oil, but I use it as a post shave oil as well. Used as a moisturizer, you can’t beat it for the face and body!
At first, I was a bit skeptical paying this much for a shaving bowl. After all, it's just sealed ceramic with a name. But the D.R. Harris wooden bowls tend to crack and deteriorate after a few years from the residual water left in the bowl. Upon receiving the new bowl, I noticed the very nice fit from lid-to-bowl. However, the bottom side of the bowl isn't sealed, which means I have to ensure it doesn't have extended contact with water. The other concern was that, even though it's made by D.R. Harris, it's a good bit larger than their soap. That actually works well because the brush is able to move around more in the bowl and create more lather. For what it's worth, I'm content with my investment and would recommend this to anyone looking to splurge.

The shaving bowl was just what I was looking for. It arrived quickly and perfect condition. I would purchase from Grownman again.

This bowl does the job of holding your soap and looks very nice on your sink. One issue, as others have stated, is the lack of glaze on the bottom. Yes, I know many ceramics are done this way. I just hope not being sealed isn't an issue later on, as it's going to be sitting on my sink that gets wet a lot. Also, the color is not the same as their other earthenware, such as their Shaving Bowl, Soap Dish, and toothbrush Holder.
Nice quality pre-shave that works great for fighting razor burn. It also leaves my face soft after shaving, similar to a moisturizer.
