This is also a razor part of a special series. A very original razor with black branding on scales. The crown and lily is the emblem of Thiers Issard.

‘Singing’ Hollowed, or extra-hollowed, razors represent the finest grind and thinnest blades made by Thiers Issard. This nickname comes from the sound the blade makes when a softer material is dragged gently across the cutting edge - like making your water glass sing!

Thiers Issard was founded in 1884 by Pierre Thiers, a skillful blacksmith known for exceptional handheld blades. The family business continued through Pierre’s wife and sons well into the 20th century, and the handmade blades are still produced in central France today. Thiers Issard stands by their product, offering repair, resharpening, and renovation of their products. This, and all Thiers Issard blades, will certainly stand the test of time.

No complaints, extremely happy with the razor thus far

Mostly been using a shavette, but it has its downsides and I've been wanting to get a real straight razor for quite some time. Had tried one previously but it wasn't made correctly, couldn't be sharpened properly (even when I had it professionally done) and was basically just dangerous to even try to shave with. So I did some research and tried to gather some opinions. I came across grown man shave while looking into a couple options that seemed to be front runners (a couple Boker and Thiers-Issard razors). I was still a bit gun shy from the previous experience I had with other razors, so I wrote to support to answer some final questions/get recommendations and they were very helpful and straightforward throughout the process. It cost a bit more than I had originally budgeted, but it was certainly a fair price for the quality of the razor I ended up ordering. As they say, you get what you pay for, and given the longevity for razors like this, it's worth paying more upfront in my opinion and having something you're going to be fully satisfied with for a long time to come. And thus far, I'm extremely satisfied. I get a wonderfully close and comfortable shave with this razor, and it came perfectly sharp and ready to use right out of the box. I actually get a closer shave with fewer nicks or sensitive areas than I did with the shavette, and the razor itself is gorgeous, well made, and comfortable to hold. Will definitely be looking to this company for future purchases
