The Boker Paua straight razor in the popular size 5/8 inch is a real eye-catcher and combines an extraordinary look with traditional craftsmanship. Paua is shellfish from the genus of the abalone, but unlike abalones, they are only found in the unspoiled nature of New Zealand's coastal waters. They have been used by the Maori as traditional body jewelry for many centuries and are still used today as decorations for figures, weapons, and meeting houses.

The impressive handle scales are absolutely unique in color and pattern. The blade with a French head is ground extra hollow with a ridge and of course, it also bears the historical engraving that was once used for particularly unusual Boker razors. Thanks to the serration on both sides, the perfectly balanced knife always offers a secure hold. With authentic Boker stamp on the blade, certificate of authenticity, and historical packaging. Handmade in the Boker knife manufactory Solingen.

All of our razors come with a factory blade on them. They are ready to shave after a few passes on a strop. We recommend you strop your razor after you shave to help to maintain the blade's useful life between honing and keeping the blade shave ready.

Beautiful scales and ended up shaving well.

The factory sharpening could have been better. I had to put it on the hone much sooner than expected.

Excellent Boker Razor

Productions like a museum quality piece. Didn't even want to shave with it because I was concerned I would mess up how spectacular this blade looks. For just lining up my beard lines this 5/8" handles most excellent. Shaving with this razor is like a hot knife cutting through butter. Couldn't be more pleased. For anything other than lining up my facial hair I use a 6/8" blade or a 7/8" just because they seem to handle more facial hair in less time. I am sure it is all technique but each man will develop a certain preference or technique that works for them.
