Thiers Issard registered the “Le Transatlantique” trademark in 1914, in honor of Jeanne Thiers, his sister, who adored ships and traveling. Up to today, the beautiful sailing ship transatlantic trademark dons the side of Thiers Issard straight razors’ tangs along with Jeanne’s English name, Jane.

The family business continued through Pierre’s wife and sons well into the 20th century, and the handmade blades are still produced in central France today.
